Question:
How do I create magazine PDFs?

Hi. I'm trying to create a digital magazine in PDF file format. So far, I have successfully been creating PDF files using MS Word, MS Publisher, and Adobe Bridge. However, the pages behave as single pages although they're supposed to be part of a single spread.

I've seen PDF files having page numbers starting from x, xii, xiii, and so on. How do I do the same for my digital magazine? And how do I make it so that the cover page gets displayed solo first and then the pages that are part of a single spread are displayed side by side automatically?

Thanks.

If you have Word, you can create the magazine in Word first with page numbers, then convert to PDF with the page numbers saved.

If you do not know how to insert page numbers in a Word document, you can read this article, http://blog.anypdf.net/tutorial/how-to-add-header-and-page-number-in-a-word-document.html

hope this helps.

Hi Jermaine,

Are you creating a digital magazine? I would recommend that you ensure that you save your PDF for the web. A lot of publishers tend to add in the press ready, 300-600 dpi, PDFs for conversion. This standard of DPI is not needed for digital consumption. Lower the dpi of your magazine quickly by opening your pdfs in acrobat and clicking on “save for web”.

Download this free trail - but its great as it allows u to have, host and share the digital magazine for 30 days - u can add interactivity and there are no limits. http://www.3dissue.com/download-3d-issue-professional.html

In the http://www.3dissue.com/ software you have various page options, as you mentioned, there is single page, double page spreads, or mixture of both. You can have flip page, slide or scroll.

Hope you get on well with the magazine., : )
