Nobody is perfect; celebrities included. Airbrushing and other digital alterations are to help smooth out little imperfections, such as blemishes, large open pores, scars, etc., as well as enhance the lighting, the ambience and overall look of the picture itself...magazines often attain a better reputation when they have visually appealing photos and graphics that are nearly flawless.

Yes celeberties already look good. However, even celeberties have imperfections. There is a standard of perfection that the publishers of these magizines try to push on the public and the truth of the matter is that is is not reality. Even the people they are pushing as perfect aren't perfect enough to suit this image.

Because no one is perfect on the inside and outside. Even celebrities have their bad skin days it's just that they have the money for the technology, stylists, etc to make it seem like they look great at every cover, party, etc.

cause real people are ugly. Models usually look like fiona in a good day, with out make up and the use of digital photography.

so you want to read it or be like them. Theh often say they used a product and that makes people want to buy the product because they think it will work the same way for them as it did for the cover girl, yet the cover girl didn't even use it, she got digitally inhanced enough to make the miracle result. it's fake, it's fony, it's life.

Because they think that perfection is all that socity wants to see. Have you also noticed how in most department stores, the female mannequins don't have nipples? That's because they're sanded down. Pretty sad!

You gonna buy a magazine that featured people who looked like your relatives?

Because perfection is naturally unattainable, and perfect image must therefore be manufactured. Otherwise it would not symbolize what we primally strive to achieve.
